Location
Méritein is in an area called the Béarn in the Pyrénées Atlantiques department of Aquitaine.
This part of France stretches all the way down from Bordeaux to the Pyrénées mountains and the Spanish border, with the Atlantic coast to the west.
Getting here
We are about an hour from the mountains and about an hour from Biarritz on
the coast. You can fly to either Pau airport (40 mins away) from Stansted or Bristol or to Biarritz from Stansted, Luton, Birmingham and Dublin with
Ryanair.
You can also fly to Biarritz from Gatwick with Easyjet.
By ferry you can sail from Portsmouth to Bilbao on the north coast of Spain with P&O
Ferries or to Santander from Plymouth with Brittany
Ferries. We are about 3 hours drive from Bilbao and about 4 hours
from Santander.
Once across the channel, you can drive from the western channel ports to Méritein
within a day, Calais is about a 12-13 hour drive. Plan your route using one
